Well, there comes a time every year when school has to end for the kids.... sigh...
Of course, they are very happy with this idea but it means less time for me and more time to pick up after 2 hurricanes moving through the house at lightning speed shedding clothes and toys faster then you can pick 'em up. Sigh...
Actually, I should not complain as I do have it pretty good. I have the opposite of what most moms have: bored kids. My kids are NEVER bored as we live on a campsite and have three pools and they have tons of friends they can play with all day. No, alas, my problem is the opposite: I never see them! This year, however, I am prepared! I have done many a Google search and have found numerous activities to do with the kids. Cooking, artsy stuff and science experiments (my insurance is up to date). I sat the kids down the other night and told them my wonderful plans for this summer! They looked as if I had just told them that I was sending them to some reform school for the summer. They went pale, had trouble breathing and my daughter had tears in her eyes. My son finally said to me "Mom, can't you play with any of YOUR friends?" Not quite the reaction I was expecting. So then I went pale, had trouble breathing and had tears in my eyes.... Finally, my daughter says "It's ok Mom. I'll play with you if I have too" Again, not what I was expecting. Sigh...
However, being the resourceful person that I am, I fixed all that too! The idea came to me late one night! I'll just pay them! I told them my solution and both of them asked in unison "How much?"
Now, I am in the middle of doing Google searches for adequate wage for children who get paid to play with mommy.. So far no luck....
